Jeep Features and Operation

One Touch Roof Operation

The standout feature of this specific Jeep is the Sky One-Touch Power Top. Unlike traditional Jeep soft tops or hardtops—which require a garage, tools, and heavy lifting to remove—this roof operates exactly like a giant canvas sunroof. With the vehicle turned on, simply press and hold the button located on the header console above the rearview mirror. The entire roof will automatically retract all the way to the cargo area in about 20 seconds, and you can even operate it while driving at speeds up to 60 mph. If you want even more fresh air, the rear quarter windows can also be completely removed via a few quick-release latches inside the trunk, storing safely in a protective bag. (Just remember to slide the roof closed if you expect rain or are parking the vehicle overnight!)

Side Window Removal

To maximize the open-air experience, the Sky One-Touch Power Top features fully removable rear side windows. To remove them, simply open the rear swing gate, release the two internal quarter-turn latches on each window panel, and gently slide the panel backward out of its tracks. Once removed, always store the windows safely in the provided protective storage bag and place them flat in the cargo area to prevent any scratching or bending of the vinyl panels. When putting them back on, ensure the top and front edges are securely aligned in the tracks before locking the internal latches to maintain a weather-tight seal.

Infotainment & Technology

Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto: The Jeep will automatically prompt you to connect via Bluetooth. Once paired, your navigation and music will appear on the 12.3-inch screen.

USB Ports: There are high-speed USB-C and USB-A ports located in the center stack and rear of the center console.

Cleaning and Sand

We provide a small brush in the glovebox—feel free to use it to sweep out any loose sand from your shoes or gear before hopping back in!

Wet swimwear: Please use seat covers or towels. Saltwater ruins the upholstery and we want to keep the vehicle in excellent shape for the next guest.

4WD Operation

To shift into 4-Wheel Drive, make sure the vehicle is moving forward at a very slow roll (about 1 to 3 mph), put the main transmission gear shifter into Neutral, and firmly pull the smaller 4WD lever located next to your gear shift straight back into 4HI. This mode is perfect for normal beach driving, allowing you to travel at standard sand speeds. If you find yourself in extremely deep, soft sand or feel the vehicle starting to struggle, you will want 4LO. To shift into 4LO, follow the same rolling-in-neutral process, but pull the 4WD lever all the way back past the neutral position. 4LO provides maximum pulling power at very low speeds (under 10 mph) to help crawl out of tough spots, but you should never drive fast while it is engaged.

Once you are safely shifted into 4LO, you have access to the Rubicon's ultimate traction feature: the Axle Lockers. Located on the center dash, this is a bright red rocker switch that physically locks your wheels together so they spin at the exact same speed, ensuring you don't lose power if one tire loses grip. You should only use these if you are actively stuck in deep sand.‍ ‍Misuse can cause serious mechanical damage to the vehicle. Push the bottom of the switch to lock the "Rear" axle first, which is usually all you need. If you need absolute maximum traction, press the top of the switch to lock "Front + Rear." When using the lockers, keep the steering wheel as straight as possible and drive slowly. Once you are unstuck, press the center of the switch to turn them off, as leaving them on makes the Jeep very difficult to turn and will cause significant mechanical damage.
